Directors

Eric Phelps received his Bachelors of Music from the Oberlin Conservatory of Music, Masters of Music at the University of Colorado at Boulder, and Professional Studies Diploma from the Mannes College of Music all in cello performance. Eric has participated in music festivals in North America and Europe, including master classes with Lynn Harrell, Janos Starker, and Yo-Yo Ma. Eric served as Associate Principal cellist for the West Shore Symphony in Muskegon, substitutes in the Grand Rapids Symphony, and performs with the Rosewood string quartet. Eric directs the PRSO Concert Orchestra and Chamber Orchestra.

Crista Phelps received her Bachelors of Arts in Music from Grand Valley State University in Allendale, MI, where she studied clarinet, composition, and piano. Crista composes and arranges music for any variety or combination of instruments, including music for orchestra. Crista directs the Prelude Players for the PRSO.

Eric and Crista have five children and attend First Protestant Reformed Church in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
